Abstract

This paper analyzes Ali Akbar Monteiro's spiritual journey in search of the truth and the spirit of efforts to realize his dream of establishing a Muslim convert boarding school. This research uses observation techniques. The research findings show that starting with curiosity about Islam, deepening it, and finally converting to Islam became the best moment for Ali Akbar. Even though his family was a victim of violence, it was still not an obstacle in building his hopes. Learning Islam, preaching it, and making pesantren are his main targets after embracing Islam; his knowledge is the basis for him to start these goals, so Ali Akbar creates the best strategy in realizing it.
