In the context of social and political life, the role of leaders or public officials has a significant influence on the moral, social, and religious conditions of the community. Therefore, the approach to da'wah cannot be separated from sociological studies, particularly the sociology of leadership which examines the relationship between leaders and the people they lead. This study aims to analyze the relationship between da'wah and the sociology of leadership among leaders or officials in shaping a religious and morally grounded society. This research employs a qualitative approach using a literature study method by examining various scientific sources related to da'wah, sociology, and leadership from an Islamic perspective. The results of the study indicate that leaders have a strategic role in supporting the success of da'wah activities within society. Exemplary behavior, policies that support moral values, and the ability of leaders to build effective social communication can strengthen the implementation of da'wah in community life. On the other hand, leaders who lack moral integrity may hinder the effectiveness of da'wah and the development of the Muslim community. The rapid growth of TikTok as a social media platform has encouraged the emergence of culinary content creators who influence consumer behavior through visual and persuasive content. This study employed a quantitative approach with an associative research design. The population consisted of 113,400 followers of the TikTok account @anakbukdani. A sample of 100 respondents was selected using the Slovin formula and purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression with SPSS. The results showed that exposure to TikTok content has a positive and significant effect on purchase intention. The significance value obtained was 0.000, which is lower than 0.05. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.792, indicating that 79.2% of the variation in purchase intention is explained by exposure to TikTok content, while the remaining 20.8% is influenced by other factors outside the study. Hanifmuh.hanif@uinsaizu.ac.id<p><em>This study examines the leadership strategies employed by a kiai in fostering student discipline at Jogonegoro Islamic Boarding School (Pondok Pesantren Jogonegoro). Using a qualitative field research approach, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with the kiai, boarding school administrators, and students (santri), as well as documentation analysis. The findings reveal three primary leadership strategies: (1) direct role modeling (uswah hasanah) through the kiai’s consistent presence in leading congregational prayers and religious study sessions; (2) the internalization of disciplinary values through verbal guidance delivered in religious gatherings, where discipline is framed as a spiritual obligation and an essential aspect of the ethics of seeking knowledge; and (3) a gradual mentoring system implemented by administrators through dialogue, warnings, and reporting serious violations to the kiai.</em></p> <p><em>The study further finds that students initially comply with regulations out of fear of punishment (ta'zir), but gradually develop voluntary obedience driven by respect and reverence for the kiai’s authority. Nevertheless, challenges remain, particularly in maintaining consistent discipline in daily routines such as the dawn (Fajr) prayer, where physical fatigue and demanding schedules tend to reduce compliance. Walisongo are widely recognized as Islamic missionaries who successfully integrated Qur'anic values with local culture and artistic traditions, enabling Islam to be accepted peacefully and effectively by Javanese society. This research employs a qualitative method with a library research approach by examining various relevant literature on Walisongo's da'wah, Javanese arts and culture, and Qur'anic principles that served as the foundation of Islamic propagation. The findings reveal that the utilization of artistic media such as wayang (shadow puppetry), gamelan music, traditional songs, and local cultural practices constituted a da'wah strategy deeply rooted in Qur'anic values, including wisdom (hikmah), good counsel (mau'izhah hasanah), and tolerance toward local traditions as long as they did not contradict Islamic teachings.</em> <em>The da'wah methods of Walisongo demonstrate that art can serve as an effective medium of communication for conveying Qur'anic messages to society. Within the context of Islamic social studies, this dominance generates complex epistemological tensions, particularly when positivist approaches are employed to analyze Muslim societies that are deeply embedded with normative, spiritual, and transcendental dimensions. Recent international scholarship (2015–2025) indicates a growing reliance on positivist methodologies in Islamic social research, especially through quantitative surveys and statistical analyses, often at the expense of Islamic value-based frameworks and worldviews. This article critically examines positivism as a “new philosophical era” and its influence on the transformation of Islamic social studies from a sociological-empirical perspective. Using a qualitative approach grounded in critical discourse analysis and the sociology of knowledge, this study analyzes selected scholarly works indexed in Scopus and Web of Science published between 2015 and 2025. The findings reveal that positivism functions not merely as a methodological tool but also as an epistemological framework that shapes how Islamic social realities are constructed and interpreted. This article contributes theoretically by offering a critical mapping of the relationship between positivism and Islamic social inquiry and by proposing an integrative epistemological approach that is more sensitive to values, context, and the transcendental dimensions of Islam. Using a qualitative library research method, this study analyzes primary sources including the Qur'an, Hadith, and classical Islamic historical texts, as well as secondary sources from relevant scientific journals and books. The findings reveal that the Khulafaurrasyidin governance model was built on five core moral values: amanah (trustworthiness), adl (justice), syura (deliberation), zuhud (non-attachment to worldly power), and tawadhu (humility). Each caliph exemplified these values distinctly Abu Bakar through his truthfulness and firmness, Umar through his strict justice and administrative innovation, Utsman through his generosity and textual preservation, and Ali through his courage and profound knowledge. These moral values are not merely historical artifacts but remain deeply relevant to contemporary Islamic leadership challenges. Islam, as a religion of da’wah, plays a significant role in fostering harmonious social life through the values of tolerance, moderation, and inclusivity. Thus, the research employs a qualitative, descriptive approach, using data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that da’wah practices among Nahdliyin communities in Tuban are predominantly cultural and adaptive to local traditions, such as tahlilan, yasinan, and religious gatherings. The da’wah carried out by kyais and religious leaders emphasizes a humanistic and moderate approach, which effectively maintains social harmony within a diverse society. However, social dynamics such as modernization, technological advancement, and the emergence of extreme religious ideologies pose significant challenges to da’wah practices. Therefore, contextual, inclusive, and culturally grounded da’wah strategies that reflect ASWAJA values are necessary to remain relevant in contemporary society. This condition required a da’wah strategy capable of harmonizing Islamic values with local cultural practices in a peaceful and sustainable manner. This study aims to analyze the da’wah strategies employed by Syaikh Abdul Malik in the Islamization process of Banyumas and to identify the factors contributing to the success of his mission. This research adopts a qualitative library research approach. Data were collected through an extensive review of books, scholarly articles, theses, and relevant historical sources. The analysis is grounded in da’wah communication theory, which emphasizes the relationship between the preacher, da’wah messages, methods, media, and the socio-cultural conditions of the audience. The findings reveal that Syaikh Abdul Malik implemented his da’wah through the strengthening of Islamic educational institutions, the development of socio-religious networks, the utilization of oral communication and exemplary conduct, socio-economic empowerment programs, and the integration of Sufi teachings with Islamic law. These strategies significantly enhanced public acceptance of Islam, strengthened Islamic identity, and promoted socio-cultural transformation while preserving the local wisdom of Banyumas. This research highlights how dawah messages are constructed through two layers of signification: denotation, connotation, and myth. This qualitative study employs content analysis techniques, examining the themes of visual scenes, dialogue, and religious symbols reported in the film. Data were collected from selected key scenes representing three core dimensions of Islam: Aqidah, Syariah, and Akhlak. The findings show that the representation of Islamic dawah in Qodrat 2 is built reflectively and contextually through spiritual conflicts and character transformations. Aqidah emphasizes the purity of tawhid, Syariah represents worship as a complex psychological struggle, and Akhlak displays social morality.
