The research method is qualitative, using Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic analysis, which consists of three concepts: signs, symbols, and interpretants. The conclusion of the study is that the short film Pemean, which was aired on the YouTube channel Paniradya Kaistimewan, is set against the cultural and environmental backdrop of Javanese Yogyakarta, yet it contains Islamic values in accordance with the Qur’an and the Prophet’s Hadith. From a semiotic perspective, the Islamic meanings based on the Qur’an and Hadith found in the short film Pemean include: the prohibition of showing off, lying, arrogance, and spreading slander; encouragement to maintain environmental cleanliness, to be content (qana’ah), to be patient, to avoid laziness, and to do good to neighbors. The implication of this research is to challenge the view that films with cultural backgrounds are inherently secular because they lack Islamic values. Films with diverse cultural settings can convey Islamic messages that can be interpreted based on the Qur’an and the Prophet’s Hadith.
2025-01-15T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 https://jurnal.alhikmah.ac.id/index.php/globalcommunico/article/view/396 Makna Dakwah Dalam Lirik Lagu Love and Life Karya Baraa Masoud 2025-07-18T10:40:14+00:00 Robiah Al Adawiyah robiah@gmail.com Sunaryanto sunaryanto@alhikmah.ac.id
This research aims to analyze the da’wah messages contained in the lyrics of Love and Life by Baraa Masoud using Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic approach. This song was chosen because its lyrics are rich in Islamic values and effectively convey religious messages universally. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic analysis as the analytical tool. This approach incorporates three main elements representamen, object, and interpretant to explore and interpret the symbolic meanings embedded in the song lyrics. Various types of qualitative research methods were considered to ensure the research objectives were clearly defined and effectively achieved. The findings reveal that the lyrics of Love and Life convey da’wah messages that include encouragement to love Allah, draw closer to Him, foster compassion for others, and practice values such as justice, patience, and gratitude in daily life. Moreover, the dakwah messages embedded in the lyrics encompass themes of faith (aqidah), religious practice (sharia), and morality (akhlaq).
2025-01-15T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025
