The rapid growth of TikTok has established it as a primary medium for disseminating religious content among university students, including psychology majors. TikTok’s personalized algorithm and short-video format enable content related to religious outreach (dakwah), worship motivation, and religious education to reach a wide audience. However, concerns remain regarding the credibility and depth of the information conveyed, necessitating digital literacy skills to filter the information received. This study aims to analyze the intensity of TikTok usage for religious content dissemination, students' ability to filter religious information, and the impact of this usage on the religious understanding of psychology students. The study employs a library research approach utilizing a literature review method. Data were gathered from relevant scientific articles and academic publications and subsequently analyzed using a qualitative descriptive method based on Uses and Gratifications Theory and the concept of digital literacy. The findings indicate that the intensity of TikTok usage for accessing religious content generally falls within the moderate-to-high range. The impact of TikTok usage on students' religious understanding varies and is contingent upon their ability to filter, evaluate, and verify the religious information obtained via social media. Consequently, digital literacy emerges as a crucial factor in fostering a religious understanding that is critical, profound, and responsible. These findings are expected to provide valuable insights for higher education institutions in developing digital and religious literacy programs, while also encouraging students to use social media wisely.
