Author Guidelines

Dirasat: Journal of Islamic Studies welcomes the submission of high-quality manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of Islamic studies. Authors are required to follow the guidelines below to ensure consistency and facilitate the review and publication process.

1. General Requirements

Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Submissions may be written in English or Indonesian and should be between 2,500 and 5,000 words. The manuscript must be relevant to the journal’s focus and scope, particularly in the areas of Qur'an and Tafsir, Hadith, Islamic education, Islamic thought, Arabic studies, and related disciplines.

2. Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should be organized as follows:

  • Title: Clear, concise, and informative (maximum 15 words).
  • Author(s) Information: Full name(s), institutional affiliation(s), and email address(es).
  • Abstract: Written in English (and Indonesian if applicable), 150–250 words, summarizing the purpose, method, and findings.
  • Keywords: 3–5 relevant keywords.
  • Introduction: Background, research problem, objectives, and significance of the study.
  • Methodology: Research design, data collection, and analysis methods.
  • Results and Discussion: Findings and their interpretation in relation to existing literature.
  • Conclusion: Summary of findings and recommendations.
  • References: List of cited works following APA style.

3. Formatting Guidelines

Manuscripts should be typed using Microsoft Word, with Times New Roman font size 12, 1.5 line spacing, and A4 paper size. Margins should be 2.5 cm on all sides. The length of the manuscript should be between 2,500–5,000 words, including references. Authors are encouraged to use reference management tools such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.

4. Citation and References

All citations and references must follow the APA (American Psychological Association) style. Authors must ensure that all sources cited in the text are included in the reference list and vice versa. The use of recent and primary sources is strongly recommended.

5. Submission Process

Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal’s online submission system. Authors must register and log in before submitting their manuscripts. All submissions will be acknowledged, and authors can track the progress of their manuscript through the system.

6. Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts will undergo a double-blind peer review process. Authors may be required to revise their manuscripts based on reviewers’ comments. The final decision regarding publication rests with the Editor-in-Chief.

7. Ethical Considerations

Authors must adhere to publication ethics, including avoiding plagiarism, data fabrication, and redundant publication. Proper acknowledgment of all sources must be provided. Any conflicts of interest must be disclosed.

8. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain the copyright of their work and grant the journal the right of first publication. All published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
