Publication Ethics

Dirasat: Journal of Islamic Studies is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This statement is based on the guidelines and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and applies to all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.

Authors are required to submit original works that have not been published or are not under consideration elsewhere. Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given through appropriate citations. Any form of plagiarism, data fabrication, or falsification is strictly prohibited. Authors must ensure that all listed co-authors have made significant contributions to the research and have approved the final version of the manuscript. Authors should also disclose any potential conflicts of interest and sources of funding.

Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based on the academic merit of the manuscripts without discrimination. They must ensure a fair and unbiased peer review process, maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts, and avoid conflicts of interest. Editors should take appropriate action when ethical concerns are raised, including investigation and, if necessary, retraction of published articles.

Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations of manuscripts. They must maintain confidentiality, avoid personal criticism, and identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. Reviewers should also disclose any conflicts of interest and decline to review manuscripts where such conflicts exist.

The journal ensures that all ethical issues, including plagiarism and publication misconduct, are handled seriously. Any detected violations will result in appropriate actions, such as manuscript rejection, retraction of published articles, and notification to relevant institutions.
