TELAAH TERHADAP KOSAKATA TAFSÎR: KAJIAN TAHLÎLÎ

Abstract

The vocabulary of tafsîr in the Qur'an has a broader and deeper meaning than just textual interpretation. However, to understand its meaning correctly, an approach involving etymological, semantic, and contextual analysis is required. This study aims to explore the process of tafsîr not only as a final product in the form of text or book, but as a continuous and adaptive intellectual activity in line with the developments of the times. This study traces the roots of the word tafsîr and examines its meaning through an approach based on jadzr, meaning, and usage in sentence structure. The method used in this study is linguistic analysis of tafsîr vocabulary with a tahlîlî istinbâthî approach, which is based on structural elaboration and the derivation of meaning based on context. The results of this study show that tafsîr is a process that is not bound by time, but rather a dynamic activity that is responsive to the needs of the times, which serves to reveal the hidden meanings in the text of the Qur'an and make it relevant to the current context.
